How a Lingfaro assignment moves from request to payment

A scheduled assignment involves a request, a review of the proposed interpreter and terms, the session, and a post-session record review. Availability and final terms are confirmed for each assignment. Payment and account details are handled through Stripe-hosted pages.

1. Read the proposed assignment

A request should give you the information needed to decide whether it fits: the requested language and dialect, setting or general subject, date and time, expected duration, location or external video arrangement, qualifications requested, and proposed terms. Ask for clarification about any missing detail that affects your ability to prepare or accept.

Share only information needed to arrange the service. Follow the organization’s authorized process for sensitive details and do not assume that any particular automated privacy filter is in place.

2. Review the proposed terms before commitment

Check the interpreter, language and dialect, format, time, place, qualifications, amount, and any stated conditions. Lingfaro’s operator reviews the proposed terms before commitment, and the client confirms the terms for the specific request. An inquiry or proposed match is not itself a confirmed booking. Resolve questions and wait for confirmation through the process for that assignment.

You can accept only when you understand the commitment and are available. If the proposed arrangement changes, review the updated details and terms before treating it as confirmed.

3. Prepare and conduct the session

Once the session is confirmed, verify logistics, prepare relevant terminology, and follow the organization’s instructions for arrival or external video access. Ask the contact for appropriate general context. At the session, interpret accurately and completely, preserve the speaker’s meaning, and request clarification when needed. Keep within your professional role and follow confidentiality requirements.

For in-person work, plan travel and check-in. For external video, test the link and equipment and confirm who to contact if a connection problem occurs. Do not infer that a different modality, such as phone service, is available unless the assignment specifically confirms it.

4. Review the session record

After the session, review the record and confirm the details presented for review, such as whether the session occurred and the recorded time and format. Raise a discrepancy through the available process so it can be reviewed. An attestation records confirmations about the session; it does not replace a clinical chart, court file, student record, or other official record held by the organization.

If you and the client-side reviewer report different times or another detail does not match, identify the specific field in question, compare it with your contemporaneous notes, and request operator review through the stated channel. Keep relevant information with the assignment record and do not guess, silently change a value, or attest to a detail you believe is wrong. Follow the review process until you understand the outcome.

Keep your own business records and follow the client’s instructions for any documentation you are authorized to retain. Do not assume that a record proves regulatory compliance or will be accepted as evidence for every purpose.

5. Payment follows review

Payment follows review of the completed session record and any issues that need resolution. If an attestation is disputed, report the difference promptly through the operator’s review process and keep a copy of the assignment details, accepted terms, and any relevant notes. Ask what information is needed to resolve the discrepancy and wait for the review outcome before treating the record as settled. Enter or manage account and payment details through Stripe-hosted pages and follow the terms shown for the assignment. Payment timing follows the terms for that assignment, and bank processing can affect when funds arrive. Client billing terms and interpreter payment are separate arrangements, so a client invoice term does not determine when an interpreter is paid.

6. Handle changes and missed sessions

If you cannot attend after confirming, or the client needs to change the time or format, notify the responsible contact as soon as possible and use the assignment’s change process. Review any revised terms before agreeing. If a session is cancelled or a participant does not arrive, record what happened accurately and ask how the accepted cancellation and payment terms apply; do not assume a fee or compensation amount that was not agreed.
