Attestation

Attestation means confirming a stated fact. In an interpreting workflow, a participant may be asked to confirm session details after the work is complete.

What a session attestation can confirm

A session process may ask the interpreter and client-side representative to review whether the session occurred, its reported duration, and the format recorded. Each person should check the information shown and use the correction process if it does not match their understanding.

An attestation only covers the details the process asks someone to confirm. It does not by itself prove interpretation quality, credentials, compliance, or every fact about the encounter. A session record is not a clinical chart, court transcript, or official school record.

Why review matters

The confirmation can support review and billing when the assignment terms use it for that purpose. A disagreement should be sent for review instead of being treated as agreement. Keep related documents under the organization’s privacy, access, and retention rules.
